2022 Fleet Measurer’s Cup

Light air and a super foggy start to sailing on Sunday dominated the “fleet Measurer’s” cup in Newport Beach.  Newbee’s were the leaders at the end of the day with Bob Martin the big winner and Chris Raab ending up Second.  Bob’s college wing man on the UCLA sailing team Phil Ramming finished 3rd.  Thanks to Joel Kew and his top-notch race committee making chicken salad out of Chicken !%()*.  It was the 1st one design regatta for NHYC’s new Race committee boat the Albert Soiland.  Participants were treated to Breakfast burritos and coffee in the morning and returned to sliders and cold beer all part of the deal.  Kudos to Jess Gerry and his team at the club for a wonderful event.  Special shout out to Brady Kennedy a new finn sailor at Age 15 out doing battle.  Also to Keith Yonkers who had never even been in the ocean and manage to score a 4th in one of the races!

Hoping everyone is looking forward to the next NHYC regatta on July 23 an 24th!!! Finn Fleet Measurers Cup – Newport Harbor Yacht Club
